The Kitasato Clinical Trial Group

Clinical trials are essential for drug development and evaluation of clinical interventions. Kitasato University and the Kitasato Institute have a long-standing reputation for in itiating and participating in clinical trials. Uniting all clinical research entities inside our organization, the Kitasato Clinical Trial Group has the largest phase I trial capacity in Japan (105 beds). In addition, we have 4 university hospitals and an extensive regional hospital network and we can offer facilities forthe entire spectrum of drug and medical device development. Internationally, we work closely together with a number of institutions in Korea, Taiwan, China, USA, and the Netherlands.

With the recent creation of the Clinical Research Center at the School of Medicine, we are extending the facilities and support for investigator-initiated clinical studies and have created a central communication hub to coordinate the transition of all parties in the Kitasato Clinical Trial Group into a multifunctional academic clinical research organization. In the near future, a central IRB and central data center will further contribute to the efficient and high-quality conduct of clinical research.

This Web site can be used as a portal to learn more about the members of the Kitasato Clinical Trial Group and as such we hope it will facilitate the design and conduct of new local and global clinical trials.
